A Valentine From Little Miss Blue Eyes

by | May 24, 2003 | Valentine's Day

I got a valentine from my daughter (Little Miss Blue Eyes) Balinda. She is now the mother of three children, the oldest one is 19 years old. Balinda wrote this with golden ink and had it in the form of a heart, then placed it in a beautiful gold and white frame. It reads like this:

When your hands get old and can no longer work like they used to, you can use mine. When your legs get weak and frail and can no longer walk, I will walk for you. When your mind can no longer think clear or make sound decisions, I will be there to think for you (Lord, help the mindless for this could be very closely related to the blind leading the blind. Please keep us from running into brick walls!) When your arms can no longer hold, I will hold you and treasure the time we have left together. When our Father God calls you home and the tears are left in an overflow, after the Comforter has calmed my heart and eased the pain so deep in my soul, I will remember all the years…. You gave your ALL You were my nurse when I was sick My Comforter when I was scared or sad My Counselor when I was mad My Disciplianarian when I was bad My Teacher in math, reading, and life’s little lessons My Mentor in giving me words of wisdom My Banker, always having the best interest rate and loan offers My Best friend. You are my personal ANGEL sent from above and filled with the gifts of GOD’s holy love. Thank you for All that you ARE All that you are NOT All that you do and do not All that you have done. Most of all THANK YOU for being YOU and loving me You were truly created in HIS image because you love unconditionally. Continue to let HIS light shine through you and touch the lives of others who wouldn’t have known HIM otherwise. I LOVE YOU MOM Happy Valentines Day.

Of course I cried when I read the beautiful words she wrote, and the things she feels about me. It makes a mother proud to know that she has had that type of impact on her child. THANK YOU BALINDA My forever “Little Miss Blue Eyes”
