The First Commandment is very specific;
Because Our God is jealous, you see.
He tells us clearly in His word
“Thou shalt have no other god’s before me.”  

Sometimes people worship their material things;
And some worship Elvis, or Pope Paul.
Although these men are famous,
“You know, they’re not God, after all.”  

Some may worship their cars, and homes
Or moviestars that reign in Hollywood
They don’t realize when their death angel comes,
These things won’t do any good.  

Because worshipping idols, and material things;
Won’t take us to Heaven you see,
We must be true, to “Our One Living God.”
If we want to live for eternity!
