Listen to Your Heart

by | Jun 3, 1999 | Listening, Poem, Witnessing

Someone cries, his tears crystallize on the future.
Listen to your heart; their pathway is unsure.
Lead them onto the road, more secure,
Making their actions more pure.

Mournfully the wolf howls for his lost mate.
A long winter filled with coldness, starvation, the participate.
Lend a helping hand to make nature survive a better fate.
Listen to your heart don’t hesitate!

A child is forced to live in a land of poverty.
His dirty hands reach in a rice bowl, very hungry.
Listen to your heart; Send a donation to alter his destiny.
Your little gift can help the suffering be set free.

A soldier is stationed away from his family, overseas.
Listen to your heart, homesick, he needs a letter to please.
He lives in cramped foxholes in enemy territory on his knees.
His hands are so cold, wearing gloves to avoid the freeze.

Someone cries, his tears crystallize on the future.
Listen to your heart; their pathway is unsure.
Lead them onto the road, more secure,
Making their actions more pure.
