Before I Was Born

by | Jun 10, 1998 | God's Love, Omniscient, Poem, Salvation

He planned it so,
Before I was born.

God chose me before I was born
To come save me.

He left His Heavenly Throne of Glory
To come rescue me.

I find that awesome that God
Would love me enough

To personally come die
In my place.

When I had nothing to offer Him in return
To merit such salvation.

That His face of love was spit upon,
That a crown of thorns was forced upon His Head,

The blood of life running down His face,
Which alone Has seen God.

Then, slapping God’s Face
For speaking to an officer of the church.

The weight of His own cross
They made Him carry–the indignity!

The Father of these men
Being treated such as this!

Forgive them Father, He pleaded,
For they know not what they do.

And with each lash He received,
–our sins were removed.

He planned it so,
Before I was born.
