Kindness? Or Myself? God's Love in You, Part 7

Kindness? Or Myself? God's Love in You, Part 7

"...Love is kind." (1 Corinthians 13:4b NIV

According to this text, if we are not kind, we don't know what love is.

If you had the choice between buying your wife another beautiful necklace or giving money to someone who has no food, what would you do?

What about your car? You only have one. What will you do with it? Will you use it to bring your child to a baseball game? Or will you use it to bring your neighbour to the hospital as her child is ready to be born?

Which of these is love? Which shows kindness?

When we are angry, we are not kind. Thus, love is no where and no one is happy.

Will you decide to be always be there for others? Or will you do whatever you want. Kindness is not selfishness. Kindness listen to people. Kindness helps people.

I once had a student who would destroy anything that someone else had that he wanted. If he wanted a calculator but didn't have one, he would destroy the calculators of students around him. If he didn't get homemade cookies for lunch, he would destroy the homemade cookies of those around him. He had a younger brother, however, who was completely different. This younger child was always kind and he was always helping other people

When these two became adults, guess which one found himself in prison? The older brother, of course! The younger brother actually became a police officer. He said that if ever his brother continued to do bad things, he would know, as a police officer, what to do: "I don't want my brother hurting people!"

Which of the two sons were kind and loving? What one would you rather be like? Think about it!
