John G. Lake, a Canadian had a family with illnesses. His brother was an
invalid, one sibling suffered from severe bleeding. Lake's wife had a heart
disease. He brought his family to Chicago where John Alexandre Dowie and all
his family members were healed. After Chicago, John had one goal in life:
John wanted to bring the fulness of God to everyone person he could. It did
work. He saved 1,000 000 converts. He added 625 churches and 1250 people
became preachers. He was known as God's "Apostle to Africa." Once he came
back to the States, he healed through the power of the Holy Spirit 100,000
people. John said: "Eight years passed after God revealed Jesus the healer
to me. I had been practicing the ministry of healing. During that eight
years every answer to prayer, every miraculous touch of God, every response
of my own soul to the Spirit had created within me a more intense longing
for an intimacy and a consciousness of God, like I felt the disciples of
Jesus…"
Through John, the Holy Spirit healed hundreds and hundreds of people. Ten
years later, he was the hungriest man. He was hungering for God." One day, a
minister asked John to visit a lady in a wheelchair. Her joints were in
inflammatory rheumatism. She was like that for the last ten years. She was
completely healed. That day, he heard our Father that he was baptized in the
Holy Spiirit." Interestingly enough, he was able to tell what organ was
diseased. He went to hospitals, where doctors could not diagnose the
illnesses of patients. John could tell which part was diseased and he was
right. After all, the holy Spirit guided him.
One evening he heard the Holy Spirit say to John: "How long have you praying
to cast out demons… From henceforth, thou shall cast out demons." In April
1908, he went to South Africa. He had no means of support. However, God
provided for his needs. He started fantastic Revival with miracles,
deliverances. He was so happy. He was always dedicated to God. He always put
our Heavenly Father first. Are you hungering for God as well?
