"I will give thanks to the Lord because of His
righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High."
(Psalms 7:17)
Last Friday, I told the story of how God used the Bible Club to impact our
principal. Another miracle that came out of the Bible club is that students
began coming to Bible Club from--everywhere!
As the Bible Club continued, it began to attract
students from all ages. Soon we had grade 4 students sitting side-by-side
with students in Grade 8. Normally the younger students don't feel
comfortable with the older ones, but it was obvious that all of the students
were comfortable being together, despite the difference in ages. Praise God!
Another miracle was in the fact that high school
students began to attend our elementary school Bible Club! Generally when
elementary students graduate and go on to high school, they don't ever
return to visit their elementary schools; however, one day, one of my former
students who was then in high school, volunteered to help lead the Bible
Club at her former school, and she brought others with her!
It wasn't long before other staff began to attend
as well. The school's custodian was the first to attend. She was a
Christian, and the concept of a Bible Club in an elementary school amazed
her. The club members welcomed her with open arms. It was only a few weeks
later that our former principal began to return to the school to attend the
Bible Club!
It is important to understand that we did not do
any advertisement for the Bible Club. Instead, we prayed that God would
bring in the students and leaders. As we allowed Him to guide us, more and
more students came. And the more they came, the more they were set on fire
for Christ. But then, why would we have expected anything less? Our Father
is never passive, and He cares so much!
We thanked God for His miracle of attendance; and
even more, we thanked Him for the miracles He would continue to work through
our Bible Club. There is ALWAYS Hope in Jesus!
