Would you want to go back again to your mother's womb?

"No way! I have a lot to do. I have no time to go back o my mother's womb!"

Jesus had always been in heaven with His Heavenly Father; nonetheless, He loved us enough to enter into Mary's womb and stay there for nine months in that dark place.

Why would Jesus come to this Earth at all?

Jesus came for one reason: "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. This is the crisis we're in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won't come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is." (John 3:16-21 MSG)

In other words, Jesus wanted to show us by His own example what love looks like.

Usually when a child is born, everybody is excited. What a great day! However, Jesus had no time to enjoy being out of a womb, for people were already out to kill Him: "In a dream, they were warned not to report back to Herod. So they worked out another route, left the territory without being seen, and returned to their own country." (Matthew 2:12 MSG); "Herod, when he realized that the scholars had tricked him, flew into a rage. He commanded the murder of every little boy two years old and under who lived in Bethlehem and its surrounding hills. (He determined that age from information he'd gotten from the scholars.) That's when Jeremiah's sermon was fulfilled" (Matthew 2:16 MSG)

Let's remember that a tiny baby is very vulnerable. As a baby, Jesus had no weapons. He was completely powerless. Nonetheless, He was in the presence and protection of our Heavenly Father.

This leads to the question of why Jesus would choose to come to this earth as a tiny, vulnerable baby in the first place. Why didn't He just come as a grown man? He was, after all, the eternal God, the Creator of the universe...

Although our Saviour had been the Son of God for an infinite number of years, He wanted us to know that He wasn't just God. He was human as well!
He also didn't want the inhabitants of the Earth to be afraid of him. A new born child would never hurt anyone.
