Unconscious for the Worst. The Forgotten Message, Part 20

Driving in Edmonton

"So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.'" Mark 11:22-23 (NKJV)

How can we move mountains? Only if we "Have faith in God", or in other words "Trust solely in God." After all, having faith in someone, means that we trust this person completely. The more we get to know our Heavenly Father, the more we realize how trustworthy He is. Who else would have been willing to die for a rebellious mankind? He did it because He loves us more than we can imagine. The only way we can experience our Father fully is to trust Him completely!

Amanda was driving down the road in Edmonton, Alberta, when out of nowhere, a car struck her broadsided. Though the collision was hard enough that it caused her car to roll, the other car was not terribly damaged, and the driver, the one who caused the accident, quickly fled the scene. Amanda was taken by ambulance to the hospital. She was unconscious, she had a cracked skull, and she had a hemorrhage on her brain.

Things didn't look good, but her friends and family began asking for prayer. They knew that our Father would come through.

We were in Spain when we received the text from our son that his friend, Amanda, was in the hospital, and though we had never met her, we immediately began praying for her.

The next day, we decided to visit an ancient church. As we entered, my wife was overcome with the fact that the place, this house of God, was completely devoid of our Father's presence. She began to fervently pray that the ones in the chapel would begin to feel a touch of God, and immediately God's presence was made known to her. My wife was then impressed to pray for Amanda, and she began walking around the church, praying fervently as she went.

She wasn't really paying much attention to the many sculptures, stained glass windows, or the wonders of the architecture of this church, but her feet slowed in front of a sculpture of Jesus. The scene depicted a time when Jesus had just been brought down from the cross, and the representation showed the blood flowing from multiple wounds to His body. This likeness of Jesus caught and held my wife's attention, and as she continued to stare at the sculpture, praying for Amanda at the same time, a Bible text was brought to her mind: "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) Then and there, she claimed that promise for Amanda. She immediately felt release in her spirit that things would be okay and that she didn't need to pray for Amanda anymore.

Later that day, we learned via a text from our son that Amanda had been released from the hospital. She was doing well, and the swelling and bleeding on her brain had begun to dissipate. It was truly a miracle.

This is what happens when we trust in our Heavenly Father. We are His children, and He would do anything for us in love. That day, the mountain was moved for Amanda. Though we had never met her in person, our Father certainly knew her, loved her, and-healed her!

Do you have mountains to move?
