Hello Rob,
Lately, I have been reading your various articles about marriage.
It amazes me how close we are. I also wore thick glasses. Because of this, I
didn't feel that I would meet the girl that would be willing to go through life
with me. Well just like you, God had other plans.
Sara and I lived far from each other. In fact different states. Sara lived in
Camden N J and I lived in the Pittsburgh Pa. Area. We met in Erie. I met Sara in
December 1963. She was twenty years old and I was four years older. It was three
years later when we got married. Just last month, we celebrated our forty ninth
year together. It has been a wonderful life together. Our Heavenly Father so
richly blessed us through out the years.
Yes, we also dated many times during those years. At times we were able to go to a motel for a week end by ourselves. This helped both of us from my work and also Sara from the children. We also spent many times on vacation with our children. We do have many many memories of our life.
Now as we go on, with Sara having dementia, our life together is just as strong as the day we walked down the isle. I just wish you and your wife as many years together. It is so wonderful to know that The Lord Jesus is before us as we spend with each other in our future. May God bless you both as well.
Your Friend in The Lord,
May we always cherish our spouse, no matter the circumstances. There is a
reason why our Heavenly Father got us together. May your story be a love
story that lasts forever. After all it's all about love! "And now these three
remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians
13:13 (NIV)
