He speaks over us every day, speaking words of love, of affirmation, of joy, of
healing, of forgiveness. And each of those words holds power. A power from
above, one that liberates you from the bondage in which you were trapped; be it
addiction, depression, loneliness, or shame. He can speak a single word and set
you free. But even while He can rip the chains off your arms and legs and throw
open the gates or your prison cell, you can still choose to remain. That is the
prisonr mindset; the mindset which will lock you in a place that God has already
relieved you of.
You see, it's the Fathers desire; His heart for you that you be free. That you
experience His love. That you live life to the fullest, experiencing true joy,
true love, true peace. But we tend to lock ourselves or to allow others to lock
us in prisons of pity and shame, of loneliness and fear, of addiction and
depression. We lock ourselves in these prisons, and then live out our days
wondering why the Father of Lights hasn't freed us yet.
But the reality is that He has, if only you will accept the freedom He is
granting you. Luke 4:18 copies Jesus' words of freedom meticulously, stating
"The Spirit orb the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good
news to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners…and to
set the oppressed free ". Part of Jesus' ministry was a ministry of freedom. A
ministry of wholeness. A ministry of providing healing for the blind, and
freedom for the prisoner and the oppressed. And the extraordinary reality of
this call is that Jesus simply needs to speak a word, and creation will leap to
obey.
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth… And God said, 'Let
there be light' and there was light." (Gen. 1:1,3). In a single word, light came
forth. And if matter can obey the simple sound of His voice, so must the
darkness which tries to hold you captive. The Fathers Heart for you is not that
you remain captive, but that you live in freedom. And so the lover of your soul,
the Father of Lights, will always provide you with release. All you must do is
accept it; and be free. A single word from God - that's all it takes. A single
word, and all creation will obey. So let Him speak to you. Let Him speak over
you. For as Jesus says in John 15:3, "You are already clean because of the word
I have spoken to you". So be free. Be clean. Seize the word He has spoken over
you, and be free.
