"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his
hands." Psalm 19:1 (NIV)
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1 (NIV)
The main character in the Creation story is Our Heavenly Father Himself. We were
not created randomly. Our Heavenly Father had a heart for us. We were created
for a purpose!
It's true that it takes faith to believe in creation. Those who believe in the
Big Bang Theory, however, need even more faith to believe that out of nothing,
life occurred. How is this even possible? I know of someone collecting car
parts. He left them in his yard. I wonder if he hopes that eventually, out of
nowhere a car will come forth? He will have to wait quite a long time, for the
natural order of the universe is towards the disorderly (entropy), not the
orderly.
None of us have ever experienced life coming out of nothingness. If it were a
daily, a yearly or even a millennial occurrence, no faith would be needed; but
this is not the case. The case for the Creator, however, clearly shows that life
comes day in and day out. Seemingly out of nowhere, babies grow inside their
mothers' wombs. The same is true with tiny, fragile-looking seed. How could they
grow? Still it happens, over and over again. Trees continue to multiply, and
they don't even move. During the winter they look completely dead, but once
spring comes forth, leaves sprout forth, and before we know it, seeds fall on
the earth. These eventually germinate and grow into huge, strong trees. Life is
abundant on our world.
All of this indicates that there a Creator who has put life within us, life to
be reproduced over and over again: "Then God said, 'Let the land produce
vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed
in it, according to their various kinds.' And it was so. The land produced
vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit
with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good." Genesis
1:11-12 (NIV)
To experience life coming forth out of nothingness, however, is a bit like
sowing coins into the ground, ever hoping that more coins would be produced. No
life is in these coins, and no life will ever show up, no matter how long we
wait. Thus, those who don't believe in a Creator require way more faith than
those who believe in the Most High.
Personally, I'd rather put my faith on my Creator, the One I have personally
experienced. We know where we are heading. We have a bright future. I have no
doubt about it! Unfortunately for believers in evolution, they don't have that
assurance; they believe that death is their end. In such circumstances, does
life have any meaning? Instead, who else could proclaim: "Where, O death, is
your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55 (NIV)
There is meaning in life, abundant meaning. I believe in real life!
